Paul is a senior partner of McIntyre Finn; he has been with the firm since 1996. He has a bachelor’s degree in law and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the conduct of legal matters in his preferred areas of practice.
His current practice focuses mainly on municipal law, commercial and residential real estate, corporate law and civil litigation. He provides services to municipalities in a wide range of matters, including major development projects, land acquisitions via purchase as well as expropriation process, multi-phased municipal infrastructure projects and commercial projects, including public-private partnerships, contract negotiation and drafting. He advises clients in a range of governance matters, including by-law drafting and interpretation, legislative interpretation and regulatory compliance and corporate governance principles. He provides services to small and medium sized businesses in real property, asset or share purchase transactions, as well as incorporation and corporate restructuring. He also works with institutional lenders in secured commercial project transactions in New Brunswick, as well as debt collection, enforcement of securities, asset recovery and insolvency proceedings.
He has appeared before all levels of courts in New Brunswick. His litigation experience also includes acting as counsel before various administrative tribunals, including hearings before the New Brunswick Expropriations Advisory Officer, Arbitration Panels under municipal infrastructure contracts, the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission, the New Brunswick Assessment and Planning Appeal Board.
He is a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association, the Moncton Area Lawyers’ Association and l’Association des juristes d’expression française du Nouveau-Brunswick. He is a former President of the Moncton Area Lawyers’ Association.
